Free Form and Free Style

Baskets are round or oval most of the time.

When I learned to make baskets, I made rounds and ovals. I enjoyed sewing these baskets.
The selection of fabric and thread than the sewing sometimes bring a surprise.

The fabric changes appearance when made into baskets. A bold Easter print becomes an equally bold baskets without Easter showing.

Vintage pink roses against blue stripes and tiny dots appear different when one basket has pink thread and the other blue thread.

I stitched a free form, no rounds or ovals here.

Surprise, it is a heart. Two hearts are better than one.

I still sew rounds and ovals baskets, but I now embrace a free form and free style. I never know exactly where this free style will lead. I do love a surprise.

A heart of many colors. Scrappy and a wonderful surprise. I thought i was making a triangle. No, It is definitely a heart.

This fabric has been in my stash for years. One of those great clearance price purchases, which I decided after buying, I did not like. So it sat on the shelf.

Than I  noticed how the fabric changes when sewn into baskets. I sew it with a free form and I am pleased with the outcome. I like the fabric in this free form.

Classic colors in a totally free style.
